Supervisory Board member
We're looking for a member of our Supervisory Board with strategic (international) humanitarian/NGO experience and management skills. Want to contribute to our mission with your knowledge and experience? Then read on!
About us
The Christian Refugee Relief Foundation (CRR) offers practical assistance to refugees and those in need by organizing aid shipments, mission trips, and supporting local projects in Greece, Bosnia, and Ukraine. We are a movement of people whose hearts are touched by the need in the world. We want to and can do something about it by rolling up our sleeves together. Together, we are a movement of hope for a world in need.
About your role as a member of the Supervisory Board
In 2025, the decision was made to change CRR's governance model from a Board of Directors to a Supervisory Board. Some of the current Board members will transfer to the Supervisory Board.
The CEO manages the organization in accordance with CRR's mission, identity, and objectives. The Supervisory Board is the CEO's employer and oversees the CEO's management. The Supervisory Board assesses the board's mission, identity, and objectives and acts as a sounding board, strategic sparring partner, and advisor to the CEO. The members of the Supervisory Board add value to the organization through their professional level, knowledge, experience, contacts, and performance.
As a member of the Supervisory Board, you'll be remotely involved in the work and the organization, providing oversight and contributing to strategic direction. The Supervisory Board meets four to five times a year.
Who we are looking for
– You have experience as a member of a Supervisory Board;
– You have an excellent sense of administrative relationships and knowledge of the role of a Supervisory Board at an NGO;
– You have demonstrable strategic (international) humanitarian or NGO experience;
– You have knowledge of the field in which CRR operates, preferably at management or board level;
– You have a network relevant to the organization;
– You are passionate about the work of CRR and identify with the Christian identity of the organization;
– In any case, you are available for a term of four years.
What we offer
We offer you the opportunity to become part of our movement of hope for a world in need, driven by compassion and solidarity, and to use your knowledge and expertise to help others. This allows you to contribute to vital aid from the Netherlands. Members of the Supervisory Board receive no compensation for their work. Periodically, a delegation from the Supervisory Board visits our projects abroad.
